Experience Overview
Designed by New York–based Studio MH, The Stage draws inspiration from Shakespeare’s line, “All the world’s a stage.” The journey unfolds in five acts — Exposition, Rising Action, Climax, Falling Action, and Resolution — where materials, light, and color shift from space to space, shaping an immersive progression above the city.
Divided into five acts

Act I
Exposition
The journey begins at The Stage Shop and The Stage Coffee, where clean lines and layered light introduce a contemporary, theatrical atmosphere. Subtle reflections and shifting illumination create depth, setting the tone for the immersive experience ahead.
Scent
Cola Gummi
Orange, Lime, Cinnamon, Vanilla

Act II
Ascension
In the elevator hall, red takes over. The space intensifies as light, reflection, and layered surfaces build anticipation. As you rise, the palette deepens — marking a transition from arrival to elevation.
Scent
Smoky Whisky
Clove, Ylang-Ylang, Patchouli, Cedar

Act III
Climax
At 320 meters, the open-air observation deck unfolds in blue. The circular layout frames the skyline, drawing your focus outward toward the horizon. Light interacts with the architecture throughout the day, while after dark the platform glows against the night sky — placing you at the center of the city’s most expansive view.
Scent
Fly to the Sky
Lemon, Ylang-Ylang, Patchouli, Mint

Act IV
Descension
As the journey continues downward, the atmosphere shifts to green. The space softens, balancing the intensity of the ascent. Filtered light and controlled illumination introduce a calmer rhythm, guiding you gradually back from the peak experience.
Scent
Forest Fairyland
Bergamot, Petitgrain, Geranium, Pinus Sylvestris

Act V
Resolution
The final space returns to white — minimal, composed, and quiet. Softly diffused light and reflective surfaces create a sense of clarity and openness, allowing the experience to settle before you step back into the city.
Scent
Morning Magnolia
Lemon, Siberian Fir, Magnolia, Vetiver
320 Meters Above Shanghai
Located atop Sinar Mas Plaza (SMP) — the tallest building in Puxi — The Stage rises 320 meters above Shanghai as the city’s highest open-air observation deck. At this elevation, it delivers a fully open-air 360° panoramic experience, offering a vantage point over Shanghai’s skyline. On the 320-meter outdoor platform, there is no ceiling above you — only open sky. Feel the breeze at altitude and take in sweeping views across the city from a truly elevated perspective.
